In the Word

Currently reading the book of Joshua and What is Reformed Theology by R.C. Sproul.  I have been feeling convicted that I am not reading enough of the Bible.  I am reading books on these reformers who had a huge grasp on scripture.  I started reading Joshua and right there in 1:8 it says, “This book of the law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it.  For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.”  Meditate “in” it not just on it.  For me this means reading more Bible.  There is a call here in Joshua to be strong and very courageous.  I think I am going to need that this summer.  There is so much changing here at work and so many things that I am meditating on.  I really need to be firm in my decision making.  I am reading the Sproul book to better understand the Reformers and grasp their stance more.  We are working on writing a belief statement here at church and I find myself siding with the reformissionalists.  I think it will be a good study for our leadership team to.

I watched the Wilco DVD again last night and loved it.  It is so amazing to watch a band make a record, fall apart, and come back together.  Great stuff.  I also watched Right Stuff about the space race and it was freaking hilarious.

Summer is officially beginning and things are about to get busy.  If you read this pray for the church, the Rabon’s, and the student ministry.

Bless God,
