Deadliest Catch. There are several captains and ships that you could work for on this show and it reminds of the present conversation in church literature that titles do not make the leader and positional leadership only works if you want to work for the person in that position. Just because you have a title doesn’t mean that people will follow you. In the church world, where you primarily work with volunteers, a title becomes much less important. If a volunteer decides you are a jerk he/she can pack it up and move onto the next thing.

www.OnePrayer.com and leave your comments about what God did Sunday through Bob’s message.  Hundreds of people are sharing their thoughts and prayers and we want to invite you to be a part.  Everyday this week the OnePrayer.com homepage will have one special devotional prayer.  The schedule for this coming week is:

• Monday: What did God do in your Church? Share what God is doing in your church and celebrate with other believers.
• Tuesday: We will fast together and pray for salvations. Go to the website to write the first name of someone you are praying will come to know Christ.If you can’t fast, you might devote an hour to praying for salvations by sacrificing your time from the TV or another activity.
• Wednesday: What is your One Prayer? If you could pray one prayer for the Church, what would it be?
• Thursday: How can we pray for each other? Share requests with each other, and lift each other up in prayer.
• Friday: Pray for your church this weekend. Pray specifically for your church and the upcoming weekend

am going to be at Falls Creek Student Camp this week with our Student Ministry.  You can see our shirt for camp to the left.  The theme for the week is "graze."  Falls Creek is an amazing place.  There will be more than 5,000 people at camp this week alone.  I have been coming down here for more than 8 years now and it gets better every year.  I got here a day early to set up the sound and meet the band.  Check out the band at www.upfromunder.com.  I just talked to Rich and the students are getting ready to stop in Moore for some lunch.  This week is going to be a blast.  I hope to post something here for you everyday.

ne of my great passions in life is for ice cream.  I am currently eating Edy’s Vanilla Sandwich ice cream and it tastes great.  Every time we go to the store I like try a new flavor.  I used to only be a vanilla man, but something within me changed several years ago and I now like anything, but chocolate and mint together.  When I was a kid we went to Western Sizzlin’ and i took a plate, not a bowl, to the ice cream machine and loaded up on chocolate.  When I got back to the table my parents eyes were huge and so were mine when I discovered that the chocolate ice cream was actually chocolate mint.  My dad made me eat the whole thing.  Realize that Western Sizzlin’ is a buffet and I was on the dessert and you can see the predicament I was in.  To this day chocolate and mint together cause a gag reaction.  If I stay at your house, hostel, hotel, or couch please remember that I prefer a hard candy to a chocolate mint.
