Wolverine X-Men Origins

Tonight I went to the 10:40pm showing of Wolverine at Cinemark in Tulsa. Most of the showings during the day sold out. We stood in line for over an hour before the movie. Planned on seeing the 10:20am showing, but things seemed to be stacked against me today. I will have remember that there is no such thing as a quick trip into the office.

The most exciting preview before the movie was for Neill Blomkamp’s District 9. Looks very intriguing.

Overall Wolverine was a 6 out of 10. There was lots of action, but some of the most important and simpler FX scenes looked kind of crappy. I expected better effects from an X-Men project. I liked most of the casting, with the exception of Will i am, who gave the weakest performance of the group. I read other reviews who said they were dissappointed with the shallow nature of Logan’s character and I will have to agree with them on that point. There was a point about 1/3 of the way through the movie where I felt like it started to fall apart. Up until that moment I was all in.

Do I think that this movie was horrible? No. Do I think you should see it in the theater? Yes. Do I think it will have a long run? Not with the other films that are about to release.

What did you watch this weekend?
